I don't know if this Megrahi was a good guy but I'm pretty sure he was not guilty as charged.

Lockerbie bomber proclaims his innocence in 'final' interview
Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, has insisted on his innocence in what he claims will be his last ever interview before he dies.

Megrahi said Dr Jim Swire, whose daughter Flora died in the Lockerbie plane crash, had recently visited him and provided new evidence that would prove his innocence.

Dr Swire, who has often spoken on behalf of the Lockerbie bomber, did not comment on the new information, but it is believed to involve forensic studies of a circuit board from the wreckage.

Megrahi has in the last few months been helping write a book with investigative journalist John Aston. The book is due to be released next year.

"I want people to read the book and use their brain not hearts and make judgement," Megrahi said. " Information is not from me, not from lawyers, not from the media, but experts who deal with criminal law and science. It will clear my name."
