UNRWA Press Conference on Gaza humanitarian situation

"The situation in Gaza is one of growing misery," the top United Nations official in the war‑torn territory said today, telling reporters it was "shameful" that Israeli politics had stranded tons of relief supplies at blocked crossing points and, in the latest blow to the beleaguered recovery effort, armed Hamas police had broken into a warehouse and seized thousands of blankets and food packs meant for needy Gaza residents.

...the Agency expected to run out of the plastic bags it needed to pre‑package relief supplies by Sunday... We are having no success at the operation level [and that] is feeding the despair and frustration of the people," he said.

He frankly could not understand why the flow of basic necessities, building materials and school supplies was being obstructed. "It’s beyond comprehension. I need these questions answered simply," he continued, saying he was tired of hearing the same "circular argument rationalized by political analysis" about who might get access to this or that. The politicians were not paying the price. Students and ordinary people were being hurt, because they were being denied access to educational materials and basic necessities. Everyone knew that all this would lead to more desperation, more anger and more violence."

I'm sure this works out well for Israel. More anger and violence by Palestinians = more reasons to attack them again.

The answer to all the

The answer to all the questions, all the confusion and all the incomprehension about Israeli actions is just one word...... genocide. It always has been and will remain until .......

Nothing will change until this drawnout genocide is acknowledged and spoken out by everybody with a voice. Only then will governments be pressured by their own peoples to isolate the Israelis and help the Palestinians.

It is worth bearing in mind that the whole world is "the enemy" to the Israeli. It wont stop with the Palestinians (or the Iraqis)

James: The whole world is "the enemy"...

"It is worth bearing in mind that the whole world is "the enemy" to the Israeli. It wont stop with the Palestinians (or the Iraqis)"

It is hard not to come to that conclusion when you do the research. Where do you see this going? (I know you have commented on this before somewhere...). I am by no stretch of the imagination an excerpt on empire building or military stategy, however I don't see how this doesn't end up in World War.
Loosely...West vs East....Russia, China and Iran??? against US-Israel, Europe, India??? All it is going to take is some false flag trigger. I would like to do some reading on the Georgian assault on Ossetia because there were some real nasty chess moves going on there involving the US-Israel and Russia.

Where to find the time... Sticking out tongue

The Enemy or Us and Them

Umm...... good question, McJ. The short answer is war after war until the people controlling the Bank for International Settlements, The Federal Reserve, The Bank of England and the Bundesbank gain military control over the whole world or they are defeated in the process.
The key will be whether China and Russia believe they are now looking down a gunbarrel or not. If they do, then they will act together massively against US/Israel the moment Iran is attacked. Conversely, if they think US/Israel will stop with Iran and they don't intervene, then they will be not only mistaken, but lost (sooner or later).

It is my guess that Russia and China both see the Bankers (throughUS/Israel and Britain) making an endrun to totally dominating the world and that the sooner they act after Iran is attacked the better their chances of survival.
The US/UK/Israel govts will be banking on creating some confusion as to what is happening or who fired first to get Russia/China to hesitate for even a day or two and hope that the attack is quickly a "fait accompli" before they respond and so take away justification for retaliating. In which case, Russia will continue to be surrounded and will become the focus of "regime change" and then China, deprived of Russian oil (as well as Iranian) will be economically strangled.

Either way, I think an attack on Lebanon and Syria then Iran is inevitable and will come soon unless there is indeed a miracle.

I think that answers your question as to my opinion on where this thing is going. To explain my views further (the "Why" of it) would entail talking more about banking, oil, religion, psychopathy and what war is. I'd be happy to do so but it would take some time to distill it down to something readable.

Awe but then...

Thanks for your thoughts. I think Russia under Putin is pretty wily. That's why I was wondering about Ossetia because they certainly struck quickly and decisively there. It looked to me like a miscalculation by US-Israel. However, it's hard to guess how this will play out with the current massive money swindle goin on.

"...it would take some time to distill it down to something readable."
Awe, but then we would have some precious oil!

Perhaps, you could write us a blog post once you've finished distilling. wink wink

OK, I'll see if I can make

OK, I'll see if I can make something sensible out of it all.

Israel/US messed up over Georgia. It was a test to see how they would react. Of course, they were hoping Russia would cop it and merely protest. The BTC pipeline is the immediate strategic element in it all. It requires further massive investment to put Israel into a position of control over oil supplies to both Asia and Europe. It runs through Georgia close to the Russian border. Investors were nervous about putting up more money. My guess is that the Ossetia fiasco was supposed to show these investors that Russia isn't a threat. It backfired.
US/Israel actions of recent years are marked by massive incompetence. Something that doesn't seem to be lost on Putin. Georgia left the road tunnel open that allowed Russian forces to pour into Ossetia. Putin seized the opportunity without hesitation. If US/Israel have gained anything out of it should be this knowledge. I doubt their hubris will allow them to acknowledge it, though.

Oil to Ukraine

"The BTC pipeline is the immediate strategic element in it all. It requires further massive investment to put Israel into a position of control over oil supplies to both Asia and Europe."

Well then, perhaps Russia was sending a message back when they shut off the oil to the Ukraine (and thus parts of Europe) this winter. I have been wondering about their real reasons for doing it.

"OK, I'll see if I can make something sensible out of it all."
That will make for some interesting discussion.

Hey, McJ. I've pretty much

Hey, McJ. I've pretty much finished my piece. Can I send it to you to post? Or what do I do?

McJ's picture

James

Yeah - I'm looking forward to it!
You can post it as your own blog post. Go to 'My blog' which is on the left sidebar under your name. Then choose post 'post new blog entry'. (You can also choose 'Create Content' and then 'blog entry'). After that, it is similar to posting a comment, so I don't think you will have problems. You can also edit or delete it after you submit it for publishing. I can post it for you if you would rather, so let me know and I'll send you an email. I can also help with formatting if you have pictures or want to block out text in boxes etc. You need to use HTML code for any formatting you want. At the bottom of the 'body' of your post, you can click 'imput format' and then 'More information about formatting options' to see examples of how to do this (scroll down below the smileys). It is pretty easy but can be frustrating if you haven't done it before and not used to how it looks with all the code in it.

Thanks, McJ. I'll give it a go later today. Gotta run, now. The shed calleth!

Yikes.

I love this whole book and chapter, but I especially like this part.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=50&chapter=8&version=50&con...

48 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

49 Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me. 50 And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. 51 Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

52 Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’ 53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?”

54 Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your[m] God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple,[n] going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

And what about the

And what about the immediately preceding lines-
"39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”
Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40 But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. 41 You do the deeds of your father.”
Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

Jesus is saying here unequivocally that the Pharisees worship Satan. It is these same Pharisees who had Jesus killed and it is these same Pharisees who put the Old Testament together out of all their collected scriptures immediately following the sacking of Jerusalem by the Romans in about 64AD. This is the book followed by the Zionists both Jewish and Christian and they are still doing the same things.

Yes well

you will never find me dissing the Old Testament. Israeli assh*les, or not.

Disappeared Free Gaza Activist Found in Israeli Prison

Disappeared Free Gaza Activist Theresa McDermott Found in Israel's Ramleh Prison
http://www.uruknet.info/?p=m51636

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sunday, February 8, 2009

Scottish activist Theresa McDermott has been found in Ramleh prison four days after she was "disappeared" by the Israel government after being forcibly removed from a seaborne Lebanese aid mission to Gaza. In early February Theresa responded to a call for support from internationals from the organizers of a Lebanese humanitarian aid voyage to Gaza aboard the Togo flagged ship, Tali. Theresa was one of only 9 passengers aboard the cargo ship on February 4, 2009 when Israeli gunboats intercepted it, boarded and forced the ship to Ashdod port in Israel.

All the passengers and crew aboard were released on Thursday, February 5 except Theresa. Between Thursday evening and Sunday morning there was no word about Theresa's whereabouts except several false stories saying that "Britons" had departed to London. Finally on Sunday, Theresa was able to call her brother John in Scotland to say she was in Ramleh prison in Israel.

According to Al Jazeera journalist Salam Khodr, when the ship was boarded, the passengers were beaten and kicked by Israeli soldiers before being removed from the ship. Also see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCb3apCJ4QI&feature=channel_p
age

No information has been provided by Israeli officials about why Theresa has been detained, what the charges are if any and why her detention was concealed. When the British Consulate in Israel was contacted for assistance in finding Theresa, staff refused to help locate Theresa saying they couldn't provide assistance to a UK citizen unless she personally requested it. Members of the Scottish Parliament including Pauline McNeil and Hugh O'Donnell, who were part of a fall delegation to Gaza aboard the Free Gaza boat, Dignity, are working with the British government to ensure that Theresa receives the protection and assistance to which she is entitled.

Theresa went to Gaza with the first Free Gaza boats in August and returned with the ship Dignity for a second voyage. She is a respected, long time human rights activist who has worked with the International Solidarity Movement in Palestine as well as with Free Gaza. At home in Scotland she works for the Post Office. The Israelis found only medical and other humanitarian aid on the Tali but refused to return the ship. The status of its humanitarian cargo is unknown.
